WTO-TBT Notification Bulletin
The World Trade Organization - Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO-TBT) Notifications Bulletin is a weekly publication of the notifications of the WTO members under the TBT agreement of their notified draft technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures.
Philippine exporters and relevant stakeholders are invited to review and comment on the listed proposed regulations.
Please email your comments to bps@dti.gov.ph. The comments that will be received by the DTI-BPS will be transmitted to the governments concerned for their consideration.
Background
The Philippines is one of the original 128 members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and consequently, a signatory to the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO-TBT). The transparency provisions of the agreement require member countries to:
(a) notify draft technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures through the WTO Secretariat
(b) establish their enquiry point and a notification authority
(c) publish technical regulations, conformity assessment procedures and standards
The Department of Trade and Industry - Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) serves as the Philippines’ National Enquiry Point (NEP) and the National Notification Authority (NNA) for the World Trade Organization - Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO-TBT) Agreement.
