DTI, ULSE recognize stakeholder collaborations

on World Standards Day

Department of Trade and Industry, UL Standards & Engagement, BPS Technical Committee and other stakeholders from the government and different industries during the BPS-ULSE Stakeholders Recognition and Awarding Ceremony.

In celebration of World Standards Day, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS), in partnership with UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE), recognized outstanding stakeholders for their contributions to advancing quality and safety standards during the BPS-ULSE Stakeholders Recognition and Awarding Ceremony on October 14, 2025, at the Marquis Events Place, Bonifacio Global City.

With the theme “Collaboration in Motion: Driving Meaningful Change,” this celebration emphasized the vital role of collaboration among government agencies, industry leaders, Standards Development Organizations (SDO), Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABS), academe and other stakeholders in developing quality standards for various products and systems in the Philippines.

DTI Fair Trade Group (FTG) Assistant Secretary and Supervising Head Atty. Regino D. Mallari highlighted the strong partnerships between DTI, ULSE and various partner organizations. “As we present these awards, we acknowledge not just individual and organization achievement, but the spirit of partnership and shared responsibility that drives us forward. Each of you plays a critical role in shaping standards that protect consumers, enhance our industry and competencies and support sustainable development,” Asec. Mallari said.

The recognition ceremony served as a highlight of the World Standards Day 2025 celebration, a global observance held every October to honor the collective efforts of experts, organizations, and institutions that contribute to the development of standards.

As the National Standards Body, DTI-BPS continues to lead the development and implementation of the Philippine National Standards (PNS) and product certification schemes.
