LPG Philippine Summit 2023: “Roadmap for the safe operations of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Industry”
 
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS), participated in the LPG Philippine Summit 2023, with the theme “Roadmap for the safe operations of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Industry”, last 02-03 March 2023 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
 
The summit promoted the importance of Republic Act (RA) No. 11592 also known as the “LPG Industry Regulation Act” and other relevant issuances among LPG industry participants across the country. It featured various topics such as latest industry trends, best practices, market trends, consumer protection, and the role of LPG in the country’s energy mix.
 
During the two-day event, the DTI-BPS, represented by Engr. Czerr Eljohn Cruz, Engr. Andrea Mikhaela Lazarte, and Ms. Janine Adordionisio, operated the DTI assistance booth wherein they addressed numerous inquiries from LPG stakeholders concerning the certification of LPG cylinders and ancillary products, requirements for the manufacturing and importation of LPG products, and other DTI concerns including business name registration.

The DTI-BPS regulates LPG cylinders and ancillary products pursuant to Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 22-11, Series of 2022, entitled “The New Technical Regulation Concerning the Mandatory Certification of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Pressure Vessels, Systems, Services and Ancillary Products”. The specific product coverage with corresponding version of reference Philippine National Standards (PNS) shall be mandatory beginning 24 July 2023 as stated in the transitory provision of the said DAO
