World Standards Day 2020 is themed “Protecting the planet with standards”. In celebration of the WSD 2020, the DTI-BPS celebrates the importance of standards in upholding the Filipino consumers' right to safety through the National Standards Week (NSW), held every October 08-14 of each year. The NSW is celebrated alongside the World Standards Day (WSD) held every 14th of October. The WSD celebration is led by the major international standardization organizations namely, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The Standards Stakeholders Conference (SSC), formerly TechnicalCommittee Forum is one of the major activities of BPS during the celebration of NSW. The Standards Stakeholders Conference is an annual event that brings together relevant partner stakeholders to discuss important issues and developments in standardization towards trade and industry growth, sustainable development, and consumer protection. The event is also an opportunity to recognize the unwavering support of the technical committee members, experts, and all other relevant stakeholders involved in standards development.
The Conference will also feature informative and interactive sessions to strengthen the importance and benefits of standards to the environment. There will be topics showcasing Philippine National Standards and relevant International Standards that contribute to the sustainability of products and services – all towards the protection of the planet earth.
The conference is open to the public. REGISTER HERE: tinyurl.com/SSC2020RegForm
