DTI BPS launches improved web portal photo

The Department of Trade and Industry - Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) is pleased to announce the launch of its newly designed and improved Standards and Conformance (S&C) Portal (www.bps.dti.gov.ph). The S&C Portal serves as the BPS’ one-stop information center on Standards, Technical Regulations and Conformity Assessment Procedures (STRACAP).

The new S&C Portal has adopted the DTI main website’s “look and feel” and presents the BPS information, highlighting its main mandates, to create a less complicated and more comprehensible appearance. The portal main functionalities are: online access to Product Certification Services, Philippine National Standards (PNS), laws and issuances, WTO-TBT alerts and current standardization activities.

PNS Catalogue

On top of its fresh, new and better organized look, the new S&C Portal features the revamped Philippine National Standards (PNS) Catalogue where clients can easily search for their needed standards and make reservations online. Clients may now simply search standards using PNS numbers, keywords or ICS codes. This development is the first step of the PNS Catalogue into going fully automated and paperless.

PCIMS Access

The DTI-BPS’ Product Certification Information Management System (PCIMS), which works as an end-to-end online and paperless processing of the Philippine Standard (PS) Quality and/or Safety Certification Mark Licensing Scheme and the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) Certification, is also accessible through the S&C Portal. The portal provides for the initial registration process and account creation in the system. PCIMS was recently launched last year.

“The new S&C Portal was designed with the BPS clients and stakeholders’ convenience as focus. We want to make doing business with the agency in all areas easier and more efficient.” states DTI-BPS Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Neil P. Catajay.

The development of the PCIMS and the modernization of the BPS website are initiatives of the Bureau in its commitment to constant self-innovation and improvement to adapt to the needs of consumers and the industry alike.

The DTI-BPS is the Philippines’ National Standards Body (NSB) and is mandated to develop, promulgate, and implement standards and to promote standardization activities in the country.
